Roxburgh Park is one of Melbourne's fastest-growing northern suburbs, and its wide residential streets and modern road layout make it a comfortable place to start learning. We pick you up from your door and teach you right where you live.
Roxburgh Park sits in the heart of Melbourne's northern growth corridor between Craigieburn and Broadmeadows. The suburb is defined by its newer housing estates, generous road widths and well-planned intersections. For learner drivers, this means clear lane markings, modern roundabouts and good visibility at most turns. It is an ideal environment for building early confidence.
Once you are comfortable with the basics, there is plenty to work on. Roxburgh Park has several school zones that require you to manage speed changes and watch for pedestrians during drop-off and pick-up times. The local shopping centres generate steady traffic and give you practice with car park entries, give-way situations and pedestrian crossings. We use these everyday scenarios so your lessons feel practical rather than abstract.
As your skills develop, we extend your driving area outward. The suburb connects easily to busier arterial roads heading toward Craigieburn, Broadmeadows and the Hume Freeway corridor. This gives you graded exposure to multi-lane driving, higher speed limits and merging, all within a short drive of home. By the time you sit your test, you will have practised in a genuine mix of road conditions rather than just circling quiet back streets.
Most of our Roxburgh Park learners sit their driving test at VicRoads Broadmeadows. It is a short drive south and one of the busier testing centres in the northern suburbs. We run dedicated mock test lessons that cover the types of roads and manoeuvres you are likely to encounter on assessment day, so there are no surprises. Our instructor knows the Broadmeadows area well and will make sure you have practised in the conditions you will face during your actual test.
Newer estates in Roxburgh Park are actually a great place to begin learning. The roads tend to be wide and well-marked, with clear sightlines and modern roundabouts. We use these quieter streets early on to build your confidence with basics like steering, braking and indicating before moving to busier roads. As estates are still growing, you will also get practice navigating around construction zones and temporary speed limits, which is useful real-world experience.
Every learner is different, so there is no fixed number. VicRoads recommends a minimum of 120 hours of supervised practice, including professional lessons. Most learners we teach in Roxburgh Park book between 10 and 20 professional lessons alongside their own practice hours. Our instructor will give you an honest assessment of your progress and let you know when you are consistently driving at test standard. We would rather you pass first time than rush into a test too early.
If you are just starting out and have little or no experience behind the wheel, our 60-minute Standard lesson is the most popular choice. It gives you enough time to warm up, practise a skill, and consolidate before the lesson ends. If you are closer to your test and want to cover more ground in a single session, the 90-minute Extended lesson lets us work on longer routes and multiple skills. Our 5- and 10-lesson packs save you money and help you commit to a regular practice schedule, which is the fastest way to improve.
We also teach in Craigieburn, Meadow Heights and Greenvale.
Lessons from $50 (45 min) to $90 (90 min). Call or book online.
